Understand sustainability considerations when selecting exterior cladding and best practices for siding and soffit installation in Texas.\nTopics Include:\n\nThe evolution of natural to synthetic cladding materials and how this affected the building industry.\nHow and why traditional neighborhood architecture became popular in the United States, and how this challenges the building industry.\nExplore the application of available millwork and cladding in the context of traditional neighborhood architecture, and learn how to overcome some of the limitations of modern materials.\nReview the Texas state codes that apply to cladding and learn how the latest versions of International have evolved with respect to polymeric and other synthetic cladding.\nDiscuss how green builders respond to synthetic cladding.\nWe take a photo-tour of best-in-class exteriors built with the materials discussed.\nQ&A will occur throughout and at the end.\n\nInstructor:\nFernando Pagés Ruiz is a seasoned presenter with decades of experience. He is a Texas resident, a homebuilder, designer, ICC certified building inspector, and author of three architectural books, including Architectural Design for Traditional Neighborhoods.\nFor well over ten years, Pagés has presented for VSI at conferences ranging from the International Builders Show to the Congress for the New Urbanism and always received exceptionally positive reviews. He currently conducts CEU webinars monthly for both AIA and ICC.\n\n
