DESCRIPTION:The Dallas Builders Association Leadership Program provides a framework for participants to develop and enhance their leadership skills. The program includes sessions and mentoring opportunities that are needed for those who want to become involved in the organization. Participants will learn organizational management, how to improve communication skills, how to best motivate employees, and how to be a better leader. The Dallas Builders Association Leadership Program will give you the tools you need to succeed as a leader in the industry.\n\nLeading Teams – May 8\nUnderstand the stages of team development and how to lead teams through each stage.\nManage and resolve conflicts within teams constructively.\nPromote a culture of collaboration and inclusivity.\n\n \n\nDecision Making and Problem Solving – June 5\nApply critical thinking and creativity to solve complex problems.\nLearn to use decision-making models to make informed choices.\nDevelop the ability to evaluate decisions and learn from outcomes.\n\n \n\nEmotional Intelligence (EI) and Diversity – July 10\nIncrease self-awareness to understand personal strengths and areas for improvement.\nDevelop strategies for regulating emotions in professional settings.\nUtilize empathy to connect with team members and enhance team dynamics.\n\n \n\nSpokesperson Training – August 14\nLearn to develop and deliver key messages that resonate with target audiences and support organizational goals.\nGain skills in handling media interviews across various platforms, managing difficult questions, and maintaining poise under pressure.\nImprove public speaking techniques to engage and influence audiences effectively.\nDevelop strategies for effective communication during crises, ensuring messages are clear, compassionate, and consistent.\nUnderstand the best practices for using social media as a spokesperson, including content creation and interaction with users.\n\n \n\nEffective Communication – September 11\nMaster the art of verbal and non-verbal communication to enhance leadership presence.\nDevelop active listening skills to improve understanding and empathy.\nLearn techniques for providing constructive feedback that motivates and supports team members.\n\n \n\nBalance and Renewal – October 9\nMaster techniques for setting boundaries and prioritizing tasks to enhance personal well-being.\nUnderstand the impact of work-life balance on productivity and overall happiness.\nRecognize the signs of stress in oneself and others to proactively address them.\nDevelop a personal renewal plan that aligns with one’s values and career aspirations.\n\n \n\nBargaining, Negotiating and Closing the Deal – November 6\nMaster the art of preparing for negotiations, including research and strategy development.\nUtilize a variety of bargaining techniques to influence outcomes positively.\nRecognize and counter negotiation tactics effectively.\n\n \n\nMotivation/Change Management and Leadership Program Wrap-up – December 11\nGain insights into major motivational theories and how they apply to organizational behavior and change management.\nMaster the art of crafting and delivering messages that inspire and motivate teams through periods of change.\nDevelop strategies to build team resilience and adaptability, preparing them to thrive in changing environments.\nUnderstand how to design and apply reward systems that motivate desired behaviors and support the change process.\n\n \nThe program, which is facilitated by Tim Lansford of Blast Seminars and Luxury Homes of Texas, will feature guest speakers throughout several sessions. It is limited to 20 participants.\nLansford is a veteran homebuilder, remodeler, and real estate broker with 25+ years in the industry. He has over three decades of applied leadership experience spanning multiple industries. He speaks at residential construction industry events, including The International Builders’ Show®. He also conducts regular educational sessions for NAHB.\n
