This course provides you with the basics of financial planning, budgeting, construction business accounting, job cost systems, and financing options that will enable you to track and analyze cost of goods, overhead, and individual job costs as well as communicate about them effectively. Topics include accounting terminology, a chart of accounts, types of records and reports to be maintained, and loan products that can provide financing alternatives.\nAs a graduate of this course, participants will be able to:\n\nDefine concepts and terminology basic to construction business accounting\nDescribe the value and use of common financial reports in measuring business performance, job cost accounting and variance analysis\nExplain the importance and process of measuring and analyzing job cost against performance\nIdentify the essentials of operating capital funding methods\nIdentify common construction and permanent mortgage products and the relative builder/client positions\nRecognize the differences between active and passive income endeavors\nAccess templates for a personal budget, a company budget, a chart of accounts, an income statement and balance sheet reports\n\nThis Course Qualifies For:\n3.0 CE for AIBD, 3 LUs for AIA, 3 CE for all NAHB Designations except HCCP.\nMaster Instructor: Donny Mack, CAPS, CGP, CGR, GMB with Beaver Builders/Mack Professionals\n\nDonny is one of only 13 instructors in the nation to have been honored by NAHB with the distinction of Master Instructor. He has been remodeling homes for over 35 years and building new homes for over 20 years. His company, Beaver Builders, has performed remodeling projects from basic bath remodels to whole house renovations and built homes from the low $90’s to $1 million-plus. His commercial projects range from pharmaceutical clean rooms to hospital renovations.
