Advanced framing refers to a variety of framing techniques designed to reduce the amount of lumber used and waste generated in the construction of a wood-framed house. This class will explain the many elements and ways you can save in lumber and have a better framed and insulated house.

Advanced Framing Techniques:
– Floor Framing – Different types of framing and spans
– Wall Framing – 2×6 Studs @ 24” OC spacing, California Corners, Interior Wall Intersections, Single Headers, Window and Door Openings, Blocking & Bridging, Single, Top Plates, Minimal use of Cripples, Sheathing, Bracing, In-line or Stacked Framing.
– Metal Hardware often used
– Ceilings – spans and material
– Roof – spans and materials
IRC Codes and Inspections related to Advanced Framing:
